DM: CSI Visualizer Workstation AnnouncementFrom: Rhonda Delmater Date: Wed, 7 Jan 1998 13:55:17 -0500 (EST) CSI's Visualizer Workstation Provides Important New Data Mining Insights Data can be viewed in multi-dimensional space. MELBOURNE, Florida, January 7, 1997--Computer Science Innovations, Inc. today announced the premier release of its Visualizer Workstation, a compelling data mining solution that enables users to virtually "fly" around and even through their data, viewing it from various perspectives. CSI's Visualizer Workstation enables analysts to rapidly identify visual trends and correlations within their data, and then apply powerful statistical and knowledge engineering tools to refine their hypotheses. This product leverages CSI's knowledge discovery capabilities in an analytical workstation. "Most data mining tools today incorporate two- or- three-dimensional graphical displays as seen in traditional business graphics. CSI's workstation incorporates an N-Dimensional viewing capability to aid analysts in discovering new insights about prospects, customers, patients, or other populations of interest," said Rudy Hallenbeck, VP Sales and Marketing at CSI. The Visualizer Workstation allows users to view, manipulate and analyze sets of discrete data points in up to 10-dimensions simultaneously. Nearness, occlusion, and perspective are preserved. It also provides a user-friendly front-end for a combination of several CSI data mining software functions including Select, Autocluster, Statistics, and Knowledge-Based Trainer. Joe Brown, Data Warehousing Manager at Microsoft said "Data mining technology provides interesting capabilities for analysts to identify trends and relationships within their data. We are pleased that CSI has exploited some Microsoft product capabilities including Visual C++, Windows NT Workstation, and ODBC, as a foundation for their Visualizer Workstation data mining product." The CSI Visualizer Workstation is currently available with pricing starting at $495 per seat for an individual analyst license. Complementary Advisor tools are also available in configurations to meet the requirements of a large enterprise.
