Hello Dorothy!
Firstly, pardon for my english. I am Inaki Inza, from the
Computer Sciences and Artificial Intelligence Department of the
University of the Basque Country. The aim of our Department respect
the
datamining is not financial or economical: we do not want to earn
money.
We view the datamining from a research point of view: what techniques
should we use with big databases. We have more interest in the
techniques
of the datamining (finally, they are machine learning tools), than in
the
datamining like an economical expresion to earn money. In this list,
we
view different points of view: it is a good site to view the
tendencies
of the people. But we are a research - pedagogical institution, and
we
must view the reality: and this is a good site to view the reality of
datamining.
Thanks for your work in this list. It is very usefull for us.
