DM: Re: Market Basket Analysis: request for references, algorithms & softwareFrom: Ashraf Azmy Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 16:07:22 -0500 (EST) Hello Dirk Van den Poel, You can download SuperQuery at http://www.azmy.com. SuperQuery uses rule induction to discover patterns and there is a white paper that explains its concepts http://www.azmy.com/wp1.htm. In order to conduct Basket Analysis with SuperQuery or any similar rule induction software, you need to create an Orders table where each row contains one order. Each order row should contain one column per product. This column is true or false depending on whether the order includes the product or not (you can use qty) . Clearly you can not use this technique for analyzing 10,000 products, but it will work for a limited number of products or (product categories). I am willing to give you a free copy if you share with us your progress.
