ANNOUNCEMENT: Conference on Models for Multi-level Data "Multi-Level MAYhem" Chicago Illinois Friday May 7th, 1999 This one-day conference is about modeling multi-level, or hierarchical, data. Hierarchical data have observations at two or more levels, and are common in many areas. Some examples are repeated measures on the same individuals over time, students within classrooms within schools, purchases within stores or within accounts over time, and households within zip codes. This conference will cover traditional modeling approaches as well as recent innovations, and will be appropriate for both practicing statisticians and academics. The speakers are leading contributors to the analysis of multi-level data in the fields of marketing research, biostatistics, educational research and evaluation, and psychometrics. They include Don Hedeker (Univ. of Illinois - Chicago), Xihong Lin (Univ. of Michigan), Jack McArdle (Univ. of Virginia); Mark Wilson (Univ. of California - Berkeley); Peter Rossi (The Univ. of Chicago); and Greg Allenby (Ohio State Univ.). The conference is co-sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the ASA and the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Loyola University of Chicago, and it will be held at Loyola's Watertower Campus near Chicago's Magnificent Mile.
