DM: PhD candidate looking for job adviceFrom: Scott Nicholson Date: Fri, 10 Sep 1999 08:12:29 -0400 (EDT) Greetings! I'm working on my dissertation in Information Science. I've had coursework in data mining and am using it in my dissertation. I'd like to work as a corporate data miner/statistical analyst in the DFW area. I've always worked in academia, and really have no idea how to answer "What's the minimum salary you'll accept?" I've not been "out there" before, and honestly, am a little intimdated. If you have experience in the corporate world and can give me advice on how to get a job and what salary to ask for, I'd love to hear from you. You can visit my resume at http://www.askscott.com/resume.html to see my qualifications, and then send any advice you have to snicholson@bigfoot.com. Thank you for helping.
