DM: CFP: PDPTA98 Special Session on Parallel Data WarehousingFrom: Li Shen Date: Fri, 6 Feb 1998 00:26:01 -0500 (EST)
CALL FOR PAPERS =============== Special Session on Parallel Data Warehousing The 1998 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Processing Techniques and Applications (PDPTA'98) July 13 - 16, 1998 Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Recent developments of database systems require to bring together selected data from multiple databases or other information sources into a single repository, called a data warehouse, suitable for direct data querying, mining and analysis. Due to the large data volume and complexity in a data warehouse, it becomes increasingly important to apply parallel technologies in data warehousing for the efficiency on data warehouse creation and maintenance, data mining and query processing. This special session will provide a forum for researchers to exchange ideas and present recent results in the area of parallel data warehousing. Topics of interest include, but not limited to, the following aspects: * High-performance parallel architectures for data warehousing/mining * Parallel data loading and extraction * Parallel data cleaning and transformation * Parallel warehouse query processing and languages * Parallel implementation of data cubes * Parallel On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) in data warehouses * Parallel data mining * Parallel data warehouse (view) maintenance Authors are invited to submit papers of at most 5 pages (electronical submission is preferred) to: Hong Shen School of Computing and Information Technology Griffith University Nathan, QLD 4111 Australia Email: hong@cit.gu.edu.au Phone: (61)7-38755028 Fax: (61)7-38755051 Important Dates: March 20, 1998 (Friday): Submission deadline April 3, 1998 (Friday): Notification of acceptance May 22, 1998 (Friday): Camera-Ready papers & Preregistration due ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A Web site established at http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~hong/pdpta98_ss_pdw provides the latest information on this special session. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For more information about PDPTA'98, please refer to: http://www.jhpc.org/pdpta98 or http://www.cps.udayton.edu/~pan/pdpta ----------------------------------------------------------------------
