DM: Research programmer position, Beckman Institute, University of ILFrom: William Hsu Date: Tue, 3 Mar 1998 00:52:49 -0500 (EST) POSITION NOTICE Research Programmer Beckman Institute, Artificial Intelligence Group University of Illinois The Artificial Intelligence Group of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology is seeking two full-time research programmers, to assist with programming projects in the areas of knowledge-based expert systems, Bayesian models of decision making, artificial neural networks, machine learning and data mining, evolutionary algorithms, numerical simulation, and human-computer intelligent interaction. The Beckman Artificial Intelligence Group is the primary center of artificial intelligence research at the University of Illinois, with twelve faculty members from departments across campus and over fifty graduate students. A state-of-the-art computing environment is centered around high-end Windows NT Pentium workstations. In addition to programming, duties include assisting with the supervision of undergraduate research programmers. Candidate must have a B.S. or M.S. in computer science or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience, and be proficient in C++, Lisp, or Prolog. This is a full-time, 12-month, academic professional position. The University of Illinois has a comprehensive benefits package. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. These positions are grant-funded; reappointments are contingent on continued funding. The current funding in place is for three and a half years.
