Research Scientist
Analysis of Large and Complex Datasets
Canberra or Sydney
*$52K - 70K + Superannuation

We wish to appoint a Research Scientist to join a highly successful consulting and research team involved in statistical datamining and the analysis of large and complex datasets, with a particular emphasis on the areas of health services research and financial risk management.

This team consists of Statisticians and Computer Scientists situated in Canberra and Sydney. The team has a strong focus on solving industry problems, and using real world problems to motivate high quality research. The project has a close working relationship with academics in Australia and overseas, and has developed strong strategic alliances with key industries. The group forms a key part of the Datamining Program in the Advanced Computational Systems CRC based in Canberra.

The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent in one or more of the following disciplines; computer science, statistics,electrical or systems engineering, computational mathematics or a quantitative science or social science. You will also have a strong track record in both data analysis and research, with an emphasis on the solution of real world problems. Experience in either the health or financial services industry would be an advantage but is not essential.

This is an indefinite position and will be located in Canberra or Sydney.
