From: I.Kuscu
Date: Sat, 5 Feb 2000 20:54:16 -0000

**** Apologies if you receive multiple copies ****

Dear Colleague,

One mission CEC2000 undertook is to provide a forum for linking academia
and industry to advance the theory and applications of Evolutionary
Computation. With the support of British Telecommunications, Paul Marrow
will be providing a talk at CEC2000 describing the importance of EC to
world-class companies and smaller industries alike. Various applications of
Evolutionary Computation in industry will be discussed, in particular BT's
experience in developing an Evolutionary Toolkit for problem solving. Paul
Marrow is the CEC2000 Industrial Liaison Chair, and more details will be
announced on http://pcgipseca.cee.hw.ac.uk/cec2000/bt.html in due course.

In a bid to disseminate the findings of quality papers, authors of selected
CEC'2000 papers will be invited to further expand and revise their work for
possible publication in "Knowledge and Information Systems: An International
Journal" by Springer-Verlag. This arrangement has been agreed by the
editor-in-chief of the journal. Decisions will be taken by the Program
Committee and announced at the Congress.

CEC2000 promises a comprehensive forum for the EC and related communities,
as the submissions period draws to a close on the
DEADLINE of 8 FEBRUARY 2000

Kind regards
CEC2000 Publicity Chair
