DM: Data Mining CourseFrom: Sarabjot S. Anand Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 20:50:41 -0000 Mineit Software Limited and the University of Ulster have recently secured funding to establish a European Centre of Web Mining called PERSONET. The centre is aimed at training PhD level students from across Europe. A whole range of courses will be offered, including opportunities for practical experience on EU projects currently running within the University of Ulster and Mineit. The course are due to begin in Q3 of 2000 and will be open to all interested in attanding. The provisional set of modules to be offered are: 1. Introduction to Data Mining 2. Data Mining Technologies 1: Segmentation 3. Data Mining Technologies 2: Sequence Pattern Discovery 4. Data Mining Technologies 3: Classification Rule Discovery 5. Mining the Web 6. Distributed Application Development 7. Networking Systems and Concepts 8. Network Design and Management 9. Business Implications of Internet Technologies 10. Managing Internet Technologies 11. Designing Internet Systems I will make a posting about the courses in the end of April on the list giving further details. In the meantime feel free to contact me for any further information.
